hey Russ i know your after

Sat, 2009-12-26 18:30

hey Russ i know your after an electric winch but i must admit im happier using a anchor yanka (float) .. i find my winch is too slow and annoying as the rope slips on the spindal (its just smooth s/s) if you get an electric make sure there is something for the rope to grip to (not sure if the rope will then fray)

we had an anchor yanka until today, for that matter we had an anchor and extra 50mtrs of rope until today too. they do work well but my back is prety shot so just looking at other options.as far as slippage goes have you tried rubber matting or another thought winding some rope on the spool and using some sort of adhesive to hold it then you will have backing that wont fray the main rope

retrieval float

Sun, 2009-12-27 20:37

Russ  $ 2700 buys alot of rope and anchors, i use a retrieval float $120 for the larger size with the ring, as long as you have plenty of rope out and run parrallel with your anchor rope it all goes well on recovery
