yeah its a trailer winch ...
yeah its a trailer winch ... and my answer is this ... you get what you pay for,
the cheaper winch from the normal car places (super cheap etc) are usually power in and out, and very slow. i used on on my last boat and took it off for a hand winch as the hand one was quicker and easier. some boat shops will sell the good ones like power winch. they are a lot more but do a bloody great job
do the job right the first tiem and then you dont need to do it again

Do you
do you really need one? I had one for my trailcraft and it played up, and was going to buy a new one. some of the members on here talked me out of getting another one, and instead going for a 3 speed manual winch. Best thing i have ever done. electric winches are slow.

i would suggest if your boat
i would suggest if your boat is only 1.5tonne go the manual one as it would be faster. over 2 tonne then yeah they are good but slow

Could be worth looking into
Could be worth looking into getting your trailer rigged for drive on and picking up a boat latch instead.
