Hi guys, I have a 175hp outboard. I have installed a custom water catcher so when I reverse the water doesnt go back up. But the last few times reversing etc. There is no water
in the jar. Time to time, the engine dies, doesn't start. When I open the fuel cap there is a huge sucking feeling.
any help appreciated,

engine problem
You might have to describe your problem at bit better, buy the sound of it are you getting water up into the breather tube of the fuel tank ?? or water back up into somewhere else ????.
The problem might not be related to your water catcher , does the engine start after you release the pressure from the fuel tank ?????
