Unless a lot has changed I'm not sure that your average tinnie will have a transom rated to carry the weight of these heavy two strokes, so whats the point? I would easily consider replacing my aging 25hp johno on my other boat with a similar sized DI on account of the smoothness, low fumes, and to a MUCH lesser degree, fuel ecconomy, but they weigh far more than the little stacer kipper is rated too.
most tinnies around 12ft would have a max hp of 25 and a max transom weight of 60kg but this 15hp weighs 83kg that is far to heavy i still think carbureted 2 strokes are the best because there is a exelent power to weight ratio and bullet proof reliability
Well, and the fact that the lousy fuel efficiency doesn't really matter because you don't take them so far.
The other reason for these models is that you can use them in places they won;t let you use the older style 2st, because of the pollution they're responsible for.
i thought the whole idea of this motor is to troll with on your big boat. not a tinny.
it's mounted off to the side and used all day trolling. saving fuel and servicing costs on big donk.

Only real use I could see for them in Australia is powering houseboats. Big torque in a low stressed package.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.
