exmouth in january

hey just just wondring what the weather will be like in exmouth at the start of january

i know that it will be very hot (in the 40s) but what r the winds doing

i have checked the search bar with not much info about winds

me and my dad will be taking up our 4.7m quintrex so it has to be quite calm (also my dad gets sea sick very easily)

we have been up before but without the boat, we will only stay inside the reef

There a few years ago over new years on the way back from Perth. Cracked 50 on a couple of the days we were there. Spent the days driving from the canyons to Yardie creek and back to escape the heat in the aircon. Yes we were camping hahahaha!!!!! No idea which way the wind was blowing....too hot to care either way!

Cheers

If you want to fish the gulf It will be ok but really hot. The sea breeze usually kicks in around4.00 to 5.00pm It can be glassy most of the day. The westside is another thing Can be 10 degrees cooler and 15-20knots SW at 8.00 am. January is one of the windiest month. The last few summers havnt been to bad as weve had early very high sea temps. I live on the westside and the ocean is a fair bit cooler this year and its been pretty windy Not to many boats getting out. You can usually get out at bundegi and head around to lighthouse bay. A lot of days you will be able to get up towards helby bank. It can be windy at tantas and beautiful at helby bank till around 11am. The gulf fishes good in summer so don't think its only the westside.

Helby bank

Helby starts a couple of km out from around 5 mile access. If you look out from the lighthouse there is good ground the whole way down. If there is no swell you can also fish in close to the beach along that area. Helby is quite a big area. grab a map at a tackle shop. Its hard to get your head around the wind patterns up here its never dangerous just really uncomfortable when it comes up. If you want to see how weird it is at Learmonth in the gulf just look up bom and latest weather observations for Learmonth.
