Exmouth in October

Gday Gents,
Planning a trip Exmouth this time next year 10 blokes, four boats, 10 days
Am I just kidding myself with the wind during this month or is it still worth the trip? I usually would travel north April or May but am unable to next year, I went to Denham at the beginning of the year in January and it was some of the best weather I've seen there, not to mention pelagics everywhere.
will be wanting to do a bit of everything from super deep to 1-2m of water, any advice would be helpful especially from a local
Cheers

Should be plenty of Sails in
Should be plenty of Sails in the gulf and a few Blues starting to turn up out wide. Weather will alternate between afternoon glass offs and 40 knots.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Have a look at http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/cw_005007.shtml.
Talking to a bloke a week ago who said they had many days of calm conditions the week prior.
Inside the gulf ie Coopers/ Camplin Shoals can be OK if there is a westerly wind and just north of the Learmonth Jetty up to what was NW seafoods can produce good fish amongst the coral bottom (try and find a sand patch among the coral) but be prepared to loose gear.
For the shallow fishing go north a fair way inside the reef (if it is not a sanctuary now) from Tantabiddy and approach the reef with much caution and anchor. you can see sandy patches, burley up and bait cast. Look out fo bommies as they can be a good source of fish.
Sorry I do not have any GPS info as GPS was not available when I lived there 30 yrs ago and the only coloured sounders I saw were on the trawlers - I had a Furuno FE400 paper display that worked well enough, good eyes and a hand held compass.
