Exmouth Wind - Sept to October

Looking at booking a 10 - 12 day trip to Exmouth last week of Sept/1st week of October.

Research would suggest that there's a good chance of Southerlies and Souwesters popping up at that time of year which may make the Western side a bit ordinary but worst case scenario if the wind does come up, could we expect to get some reasonably calm conditions inside the gulf? ie Southerlies would be kinda 'offshore'.

Thinking maybe Queenfish, Permit etc

Been twenty five years since I've been up that way so would really appreciate any advice or your experience of Exmouth at that time of year.

Always windy in Exmouth that time of the year and omehow the winds seem to change with whatever side of the gulf you are on. You might be lucky though. Queenies are everywhere, so that shouldn't be too hard, but permit are a bit harder to find , Ive only seem them on the western side.

I was up there all September an the first week of October the last 2 years. Early Septembers still normally good off the west coast! We wer fishing the shelf most days or going north of the islands. End of sept start of October is windyer but if you head down the bottom of the gulf you can always get away from it.
