thinking of heading up to exxy in mid sept with the tinnie... Whats the winds like that time of year?? Have been up in early aug and was quite windy but seemed to calm off in the arvo's. Also been up in nov and jan which was also windy but had windows to fish in... Can i expect the same??
Also what fish are around that time of year?? Will the manta's and cobia around still??
cheers

LOL always blows.. Yeh, you will get windows in Sept mate, just gotta be careful not to go too far if it does blow up because its a miserable trip back. Sept/Oct is best for the manta's, just got to get to them before the spearo's do.

I have been up to Exy late
I have been up to Exy late Spetember a couple of times and have found that "in general" the mornings are windy and the afternoons are calm. This wind pattern made for a good holiday as the mornings were mum and kids time and then the blokes went out fishing all afternoon.
Caught Cobia on all three occasions in late September. The last time we got a nice double hookup by casting at a passing manta ray.

looks like i'll have to start planning... Thinking the best time would be the week begining 14 sept, (just after full moon with arvo/evening high tides)
Hopefully can catch a cobia or 2
