is there a reason (other than ground tackle /rope being too small and deteriorating) that the fads cant be left out all year round and would there be fish on them in the winter months???

Winter storms causing loss I
Winter storms causing loss I thought was the main reason? Even storms in season (or ships) cause them to go missing. Would there even be much point after the water gets too cold for dollies?

They're also a bit pointless
They're also a bit pointless when the current moves further out.
PGFC got their FADs onto charts, not sure of the exact process, but I guess we need to do it for Jurien as well.

dollies arnt the only fish
dollies arnt the only fish you can catch around fads.....
im sure in the winter time IF they were left out there would be kings on them...... Plus if there left year round then we wouldnt be waiting 2-3 months till the dollies show, cause the lil mini ecosystem that starts right at the fad would be there year round.....
just my thoughts but no its not going to happen, FADS cost coin!
a hard days fishing still beats work

Port Hedland GFC also has Fads on charts. Just got to get them out a bit more.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Would you approach DOT/AMSA
And have them entered into the charts via Marine Notices?
I don't know about the approval though.

Just chatting with Rhyss
Just chatting with Rhyss tonite, I think he has a contact in DoT to talk to about approvals, then it goes out through Marine Notices.
