fair few winter tailor

just throwing up a few pictures of some decent tailor ive got over the last few weeks when ive had the chance to get out for a flick, all where caught on lures and 10lb on a certate 2506 and 2-5kg pflueger rod, dam the go hard on such light gear!!!!
the photo of the location (its north metro) ive edited out a bit of it to hide its location but you still get the idea of how much foam and wash is around there and also how much reef you have to try and stop them from getting to on the light stuff.

Maria blusecodes have been the best but on the calmer days the smaller duel sinking pencils work better. Also been using bullchops and a fair few different duel ones and they all work just got to play around with the retrieve

Looks like you've got the tailor sussed. Your right, that is a good spot (recognise those rocks in close), I've pulled several good fish from there & lost a few as well.

Thanks guys, I have used poppers and other lures a fair bit they just don't receive the same attention as the stickbaits do, I always wait for the wash to clear and then cast ad pull it through the clearing water on the reef edges so stickbaits and other sinking lures work much better for that location.

very nice, I am still trying to work out the stick baits myself I have been giving them a go on the skippy under the jetty but am yet to land a tailor on one. Do you wind and drop or do you just wind in ?
