Favourite Outfit

Hey Guys,

Just thought I would make a post to see what everyones favourite setup / combo is for.....

1) Spinning - casting poppers / plastics/ hard bodies ect 15kg

2) Trolling / Bottom bouncing  15 - 25kg

3) Landbased fishing - Tailor / Mulloway / Salmon  10 -15kg

I do all three forms of fishing and have a preference but I am going to purchase a couple more combos in the comming weeks jsut wanted to see what some of you out there are using.

Thanks Guys

1. Tenryu Tuna PE4-8 with a Stella 8000. If someone forced me to take one rod up north this would be it. LEngth is 7'6" so OK for shore based as well. Bit soft for big poppers but can do them. I run PE5 on it.

2. BOttom bashing - PE3 Jigwrex overhead with a saltiga 30 and 30lb braid. BIt light for really big stuff but great for metro

2. Trolling Sabre 15-24KG custom with tiagra 30. Great mid weight outfit for everything.

3. Never fish landbased so no idea.

1)Love my Saltiga Dorado 80s for my spinning, coupled to either a Certate 4000 (PE2) or Stella 5000FA (PE3) for spinning in boat or landbase.

2)Not into trolling but jigging I love my HOTS Stilleto Slow Style overhead rod. The lightest possible rod you can get. ATM its sporting a Saltist 30T, soon will be upgrading to the new Pluton/Ryoga.

3)Most of my landbased fishing is done on ultralight gear as most fish are not too big to handle. Certate 2500 with my Daiwa Heartland Z running PE 0.8 (12lb) will land anything from Bream to Salmon (big ones not pissy trouts) and Bonitos.

for landbased i run an opus bull 6000 (running 30lb), absolute beast

 i also use an 8k saragosa(running 20lb) which i love

if u wanna spend the money go a saragosa 8k with the shore spin starlo stik, its a great combo for everything from salmon to mulloway

if your gonna use plastics and metals or even maybe bait cast unewighted mulies for tailor and salmon maybe go bit lighter like honsu said

bream gear is always fun with salmon and tailorSmile

Jargon

Sheeesh. I get beaten up at work (and at home) for using computer jargon when describing problems etc. LOL You guys are way over the top and I don't understand a bit of what you are rattlling on about LOL. Jarvis Walker 10 foot combo loaded with 30lb mono (green) is about what I relate too (Sorry Dreamweaver LOL).

Seriously though, I am land based and love it. Ugly Sticks, Shimano reels with the odd Mitchell. I take time selecting good quality line and I am about to convert to braid for lighter outfits.

Sorry purists.... but that's just me...Tongue out

Cheers, Vince
