Hey Guys....
i Realise that a fcv 295 will be better than a 585... but just wanna know peoples opinions on both units is the 295 just a bigger screen with same capabilities?
i am looking at a 585 at the moment for my new tub (6.8m Barcrusher) and just wanna see what other people think of these units so i dont make a decision i may regret down the track...
Cheers

chalk and cheese
But is it worth the money.
I run a 585 right next to a 295 and there is a huge difference. But it all comes down to the transducer as well as the sounder as that is the part that recieves all that information for the sounder to interpret. I run both as the transducer on the 585 is 21° and the 295 is 11°. I can see more general area on the 585 then home in with the 295 until in 50 meters of water if I see that blob sitting on that ledge I know that fish is within 5 meters of my bait.
And I say blob as thats what the big difference is. It will show fish as individual returns where the 585 will not when close to the bottom just as general flare
Twin turbo..V8 diesel..Ohh what a feeling!!

Just do it, get the 295
you can fine tune it a lot more than the 585, especially if if you plan on heading out really deep often
just remember the 295 is not a sealed unit so it should be put into a housing to protect it from moisture getting into the rear.
PS I just happen to have a housing and bracket to suit for sale

mate go the 295! the only
mate go the 295! the only regret i have is not getting the 1150! if your only going to run the tm260 you might be a little under gunned trany wise for that unit but you can all ways get molds or frames made to hold a biger trany. iv transom mounted a 2kw 50hz an a 1kw 200. a mate has the same trany set up on a 585. it is very good but its nothing on the 295! shell out a bit more now an it will pay off in the long run
Any one free to help me pull my drum lines tomorrow?
