a few metal work projects

hey guys,
i know its not fishing related, but, heres what ive been doing in school
Number 1: a plaque thing of a gt made from cast aluminuim (i think, cant remember hahaha)
Number 2: a bar stool, finished this one the other day, i dunno about the segrass backrest, but my teacher liked and hes the one that grades me on it hahaha.

i made the same bloody ashtray 6 times over 3 years in metalwork because my teacher knew a dud when he saw one.

yeah, boat building would be a very intersting job, but i dunno about welding every day, after a while i think ill be sick of welding all day

Any hints on the casting of the fish.
My apprentice TERRORIST son when he isnt building fireworks has started casting aluminium,mainly for air powered guns(low powered).
He is 14 and although I do let him mess with his pyrotechnics under strict supervision,I would like to encourage the sort of stuff you have done with the fish.
We are getting a lathe for him later in the year,he has done some special stuff at school(air powered motor that wasnt finished and a few other items)

Well, i used a process called lost foam casting, it basically were you carve the shape you want out of high density foam, bury it in some special casting sand (make sure the sand is packed in tight around it) and then pour the molten metal over it and the foam just melts away and fills were the foam was
