Photography - get together

Hi all...

Judging by the interest in Marc Russo's images, there's quite a few members on FW who are pretty keen on photography...

Maybe you are a keen hobbyist or have just bought a new camera and want to get some advice on how to use it or take better images.

I shoot for a living, but at times start lacking motivation - especially if shooting the same stuff over again.

It's good to sometimes look to others as a source of inspiration..

How about arranging a night as a get together ?

We can take in a couple of locations whether it be landscape, builidings, cars, portraits (in close proximity) and then retreat for a drink (or coffee) after if interested..

And besides the photography, it would be a good chance to catch up with fellow FW members !

Your thoughts  ??

cheers,

Paul

Great idea Paul.  Always, great to learn from the pros!

Dusk nudes as a subject matter maybe?  Haha wish.

Name a time and place.

Cheers Pete

Great to see the response

Great to see the response guys...

Lets give it a day or so for other members to see the post and register their interest, then we can go from there and start setting a day and time.

This is something we could possibly look at doing say on a monthly basis if the interest is there....

Vary locations - North, South, City

Vary time of day and shooting subjects.

As Marc mentioned, a tripod is essential for night photography.

Not a big issue if you don't have one, as I'm sure between us we can share tripods.

Was thinking it would be good to post up your images into a gallery post outing for all to see... Sure might be the same location/subject, but would be good to see how different people look at a scene from different perspectives, hence ending up with varying results..

Interested members so far...

Yeah great idea boys, I was thinking of suggesting the same thing.  I am very keen but it would be good if we could do it on a weeknight as I am not here all weekends.  Let's plan ahead of time and I will try my hardest to get there - I am VERY keen.

I agree with Marc, Freo is full of good subjects by day or night.  Well almost all subjects, not sure about the sunset nudes.......

Wednesday night (17/6)

Mon, 2009-06-15 15:12

OK...

Just called Marc Russo and we have set a date for the first outing..

This Wednesday 7.00pm - 7.15pm, meeting at the carpark under the Narrows.

Most of the shots will probably be based riverside, starting at the Narrows, heading to the Old Brewery, Boat Shed, Peppy Grove, etc...

As mentioned earlier, a tripod is required... Don't fret if you havn't got one, as between us we can share them.

For those who will be attending can you please indicate on this post and PM me your contact  number - just so we know numbers of attendees and who to wait for...

See ya Wednesday...

cheers,

Paul
