First crab feed
Submitted by Broome lad on Wed, 2016-01-20 19:34
When out with the boss after work yesterday to get first feed of crabs for the year got our 20 fairly easy but threw a lot of undersized and empty ones back also learnt something new which might come in handy for those that don't know it was new to me but made sence and came from a professional crabber if you press on the underside of the shell where the swimmers are (see pic ) and its soft and pops in and out then it's empty which make sense at that is where the best bit of body meat is the pros call them poppy crabs and throw them back , anyone else heard this ?
