Mid price jigging setup
Submitted by roodog78 on Thu, 2016-01-21 08:32
Just a quick question, I've read other posts but am still lost as to what sort of setup I should be looking at to kick start my offshore jigging career? Rod, reel, line and jigs? Say around $500 any suggestions, cheers in advance.

My pick for that price would be
My pick for that price would be; 5000 fj stradic or sustain, PE1-3 daiwa Blast and 30lb tasline.
I got the blast as a 'see if I like jigging or not' rod with the thought of upgrading it - haven't found an excuse yet, was told they're a saltiga blank but don't know the truth to it. Tasline is great stuff too.

I'll second that
For the blast rods. You probably won't find better bang for buck amongst any rod range as what you will within the Daiwa blast rod range. I have seen Bodie from here put his through more than its fair share of punishment on some big fish and it loved every minute of it.
in my opinion Daiwa make the best rods, shimano make the best reels

Agree with the above reels,
Agree with the above reels, but check out the Eupro rod range. Giant King PE1-3, bang for buck right there.
Site sponsors stock them, under $200.
