First Metro Mulla!
Submitted by chrisp on Sat, 2010-02-20 08:26
Hey All,
Have been hitting a north metro beach pretty regularly lately with fellow fishwrecked member Daz, and his bro. Most session's have been productive with solid herring tailor and bronzies keeping us entertained.
We headed down again last night and i finally scored my first mulla. It took a big tailor fillet on snelled 9/0 circle hooks.
Daz's Bro who is still trying to get his first tailor went one better later in the night with a mulla of his own on the mulie.
I has been good to find some quality land based fish in the metro area.
Cheers
chris

There is nothing like that
There is nothing like that feeling of getting one of those fella's on the beach. That initial reaction when you realise what you have landed is exctiement, but they are such a beautiful fish as well that when the adrenaline has worn off you can't help but just admire them.
My first and only mulla went about 80cm - so probably a fraction smaller than yours Chris. It made for several fantastic feeds, but I still today feel guilty about not letting it go to swim again!
Well done to both of you. The pinnacle of beach fishing in my opinion.
