First time Mulloway fishing

Was at Mosman Bay last week, first time fishing for Mulloway. 3 and a half hours out on the water and about to pack up and leave when I landed this bad boy.
16.5 kgs, not bad for a first time!

Nice looking mulla, definitely a luck side to hooking one... either seems to take you 10 years to catch one, or in your first 3 attempts.. haha

GRRRRR I hear
Many a fruitless night and day and all other times inbetween spent chasing them to no avail. I have caught 4 over 35yrs, and 2 where soapies, So I am a GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
. But if your not in it, you dont win it. Mine was more ass than class with bait out for tailor with live whiting caught on the flickies, but they are a awesome fish, and I am seriously worried for your mental health now, because now you will want to beat your PB.

This was caught on a Tailor fillet caught earlier on in the evening. I seem to have made a lot of enemies with this first time effort, and I love it :) Let's see if I can go 2 from 2 haha.

Here in Geraldton there is soapies in their hundreds all around 40cm. You gotta be real lucky to pull a big fellah like that out of the schools of smaller ones. The only baits i've tried for big mulloway are live whiting and herring fillets, but i hear tailor fillets are the number one bait for them?
Sex is great, but fishing lasts all day.
