Fish Species Info Sites

What web sites do people use for info on fish species.

Im looking for a good site that has info on species like Dhufish, Breaksea Cod, Skippy, Red Snapper etc that are normally encountered in metro waters.

Im trying to find one that covers a wide range of topics from habitat, life span type info to fishing methods etc.

Found some that cover bits and pieces but not one that has the lot.

Fish ID page

I will endevour to make up a fish ID page. Maybe we can do a wikipedia style thing where everyone puts in their catch information about the fish (habitats, depth, method of capture etc) and we create a database on each fish that has a direct link page from the websites front page.
Any idea on what species we should do first?

Wouldnt mind knowing all there is to know about K.G.

Be good to have something decent to refer to for all the main targeted species. All stuff like seasonal information, prefered water temps, and depth range which they tend to inhabit more over different times of year etc etc

http://fishbase.org/ is good for scientific type info, to ID a fish, but isn't really aimed at anglers.

Good idea

If you are going to do this, to avoid everyone posting similar info maybe you just allocate a species to everyone that wants to take part and then once that is up, others can add to it with any missing or conflicting bits of info. Might have to call it Fish-Wreckapedia.

Just give everyone the headings you want it to cover then go from there.
