Targeting Jacks in Winter

I've done a lot of creek fishing during summer and I've got it pretty sussed out in that regard but I've done bugger all in this department during winter. Perhaps some other pilbara fishwrecked fellas could help me out. I'm wondering if Jacks are a viable target during winter, and if so, what are some tips to encourage them to bite in the cooler months?

There's winters and then there's winterrrrrrrrrrr's (got a shiver just typing it).

When I lived in Kununurra we'd quite often drive up to Tanamarra Creek/Cape Domett during the cooler months. Jacks around the rockbars loved small live mullet or even small mulies. They weren't really switched on to chasing lures during the cooler weather.

Outgoing, half way through to bottom of tide. Had plenty of success throwing small livies into the sticks from off the bank.

Jacks

The jacks have been firing down here lately, one bloke got 66 in 4 days (between 4 anglers, sad I know!!) on mulies. Takes away a bit of the excitement of lures, but if you want to catch them, they still got to eat. Personally I'd go for the livies too, going on my next day off to try and get some, will report in on how we go.
