fishing around perth

just an update for anyone curious of some spots ive been in the past couple of weeks.

swan river:

went down on sat with a mate, fished between left bank and the C shed. My mate was using hard bodied lures most the time and caught a few flat head ( all undersize).

My soft plastics remained untouched (except my the occasional blowie) until i got in front of the left bank. In 2 casts caught a decent flat head and flounder ( didnt have size charts so they were released) on first jig.

Then another 30cm+ flatty was caught on one last cast of the C shed jetty ( i think its called that).

Yesterday whilst enjoying a beer at the river also noticed lots of birds working baitfish in the middle of the river, between point walter spit and mossie park, right in the middle, was devestated i couldnt take the dingy out for a troll.

Secret harbour:

Went to secret harbour on friday and saw heaps of fishing busting up out the back, lots of fish activity in general, saw what looked like a couple of sharks aswel but still not too sure what it was, could have been seals.

Also went yesterday and there was bulk whiting 3m off the shore on all the sandbanks, definitely worth checking out if you live down that way.

Lastly went out on the boat on sunday, went to one of my mates whiting spots near garden island. Didn't see many whiting around, but as many herring as you wanted, and also quite a few north westers...

Yeah, I got out to those birds working in between Pt Walter and Mossie Park.   Was schools of white bait.  We trolled and flicked a few lures among them for tailor.  Basically a fish a cast, mainly small ones 25-30cms, but a couple of better ones up to 40cms. And some big herring!

hoping to tackle some of these decent flatties I've heard about too!

cheers!
