you can catch all the usual
you can catch all the usual river species with a dhingy, plus the blackwood is famous for big bream. havnt been there since i was about 12 or 13, but i remember going down towards the mouth and anchoring near the channell markers, got a few whiting and a flathead or two. the old man put out a pencil float and bread trying to get a mullet, but ended up hooking a nice fat tailor!
bream are easy to catch just chuckin prawns towards overhanging branches etc

augusta
In augusta today it was was pissing down.I dont think you have to worry about the fires ,they might still be burning but are under control from what i hear. with the rain today hopfully it has put them out.
If you launch at flinders bay ramp and get aout near the islands you could catch anything.Check wind and swell forcast before heading out it can get pretty rough at times.
