Fishing Rules

Has any one heard of what the Liberal party may do, if anything, about the fishing rules if elected next month ?????? I can't get in touch with the local Liberal member to ask any questions on the subject and was wondering if anyone has any info on the matter !!!!

BB, the only thing I've seen on the matter is from Terry Fuller (Recfishwest) where he advised that the WA Liberal Party had advised that they would adopt a bipartisan approach, supporting the 'initiatives' by the Labour Party. Whether CB being at the helm will change that, I don't know.

Others may know more from a commercial perspective...

I suspect it'll be easier weaving a basket with snakes Laughing , but I'd be very interested if you get some written reponse. The WA Liberal Party website lists Bruce Donaldson MLC as having the shadow fisheries portfolio.

I think they'll keep the rules, I know they are a pain but fishing for the future is the aim whether we like it or not.

Why is the Madaff bloke telling everyone to vote for Liberals then if they have the same policy?

Ok everyone the election has now been called. Date for the election is the 6th of September. Now who are you going to vote for, or better still do you want to fish
this summer or not.

Vote Labor if you rather stay home and watch the idiot box.
OR.
Vote Liberal if you still want to fish.

IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to see Liberals

Tue, 2008-08-12 19:53

I would like to see Liberals policy and intentions in writing before I go voting for them Smile

Labour have a big Greens party dag hanging off their ass after the last election they had to take Green preferential votes to get in.

Pending they get a clear margin theyll cut the big Green Party sand bag free.

Maybe the tackle industry should be getting both parties intentions in writing then making the policies public for the recreational fishing public to make their own decision?

Yes agree I think they are here for good, just gives us the tom tits, as we like to go to Leeman cray season starts chuck a couple of cray pots in then go fishing, have nice seafood platter for the Xmas bash with relations.  So now it'll just be crayfishing and anything thats not on the ban list if we go in that time, heading up before ban starts to get some fish as freezer is nearly empty, we fish for what we want, frames go in craypot nothing wasted.

It's NOT as simple as that

In the absence of any clear change in policy and and clear, timed intent to change the relevant legislation covering the WCB changes, I've yet to be anywhere near confident that a change in WA State Government will result in favourable reversals/changes.

Given each major parties historical core ideologies (although these are becoming more and more blured day by day), you MIGHT see changes that have affected commercial interests - both on and off the water. But that's a mighty big MIGHT.
