First things first in regards to fishing around Albany... will you have a 4wd? What sort of gear will you have with you to fish with? What sort of fish would you like to catch? Also.. where in Albany are you staying? :)

Hey goodz, wouldn't mind any advice too. I have a navara d40 and a seaquest 5m going to albany from june 30 to july 4. Looking for good bottom fish pinkies, dhues etc. Will do some trolling if weather permits. I heard go out from the whaleworld ramp and sound around, I have descent gear jigging and bottom gear will also take light gear if I need to stay inshore.

Cheers

Ah I'm headin down on the

Ah I'm headin down on the 7th or 8th of july, coulda caught up for a fish!

I grew up in Walpole/Albany and parents and lots of other family live down there so I try get back down as much as I can.

When we head out in the boat we usually put in at the ramp next to whaleworld or beach launch at Hartmans out near Torbay. You just gotta watch the tides at the whaleworld ramp as its in a tiny little bay with a rocky channel to get out and I've seen it too shallow to get a boat in before. Having said that I've only ever seen it like that once and we've never had a problem launching dads 5.8m heavy old boat. It's definately the closest ramp to get you to action.

Depending on the conditions I prefer to head out to Torbay though and launch there. Within 2 mins you're in 30m+ and 50m isn't much further.. you can also hide from the westerlies or nw's in close and still get good fish.

I'll PM you some more precise info ;)
