Fishing tips

Hi all,

Bit of a newbie to all this.
So far fishing out from Woodies in the 30-40m mark after five fathom bank.
Been drifting with paternoster without much success.
Do you recommend anchoring at this depth or carry on trying my luck drifting ?
Is this a good depth or do I need to head further out to deeper water.

Cheers for any tips...

That depth is fine mate, just use your sounder and look for structure like lumps and hard coral. Drifting is the way to go too, you don't wanna be pulling 70-80 metres of anchor rope every time you move spots. A good idea is to troll around for mackies and tuna and keep an eye on your sounder. Best way to find new ground I've found. You could head deeper if you wanted to but personally I like the 30-50s.
