fishing trip for wednesday

hey there guys
i now have a 18ft runabout with a 120 hp jonno on the back an a 180lt fuel tank. i have taken it out to rotto a few times with nearly no luck at all except for catching everything that is undersized an have to throw it back.
i was just wondering if someone would like to be my deckie who would happen to know of some better ground out around the rotto way or team up an take out two boats on wednesday for a fish.
if u need a deckie i have all my own gear to go out jigging trawling or bottom bashing an will to help with the costs as well as cleaning boat after with a nice cold ale or two
thanks

hi mate
the best tip i can give you is check out all the craypots in 30-50m that you see, most will be on isolated bits of reef/small lumps or bits of rough ground theses are good indicators of where to find the better fish , sound around them (the actual pots are usually 30/80m away from the floats ) and mark any ground with fish on it (it helps to have a good sounder), this will get you started, many trophy sized bottom fish have come just by detouring to check out a pot in the distance and many long term reliable spots have come from this method, just dont fish right on the pot ropes and if you do snag a pot rope and lose a rig, go up to the float and tie a knot in it or a piece of rag around it to let the deckie know so no one gets impaled by your 8/0 hooks or hit by the sinker when retrieving the pot. cheers
