This has probably been mentioned before but...... Wouldn't it be good to have a fishwrecked app. Imagine the possibilities ;)

I dont understand
Can someone explain to me what difference an app has compared to just saving the bookmark to your phones homepage? I'm not tech savvy enough to understand.

For some things where its quite interactive, it can be useful, but how useful depends on individual applications. I'm not really sure what a FW app would do different to the website? Either formatting or allowing easier pic uploads? I dont see a lot of use. Some people like tapatalk for forums though (Jamie can probably advise how hard that is to setup). Again, you need to figure out why you're doing it and whats not working currently....
On my phone, FW formats pretty well anyways.

It would no doubt, work and look just like this site already does.
Tapatalk was going to be released for drupal, maybe its completely redundant when you look at some of the nice responsive WP themes.

I dunno. Just an idea. I got no idea in what's involved. You could charge .99c to down load it to and make a small fortune.

I'm all for the idea, just need to know the benefits of doing so versus the cost involved.
I could make it so you stay logged in all the time very easily. I give a 90 minute window to be logged out for caching and memory saving purposes. I could always make you stay logged in for 20 hours to make the site look popular, but thats not my style...

I must admit the image upload on this to forums sucks balls and has always annoyed me and has been the hardest thing to resolve (which still hasn't been) External image hosting has always been easiest for this but again makes it difficult for the non tech savvies.
As for the making money, well it would be nice! Running a business where you need to keep a constant eye on it, with little thanks and little profit (oh and a fan base of haters - thats when you know you're successful) it would be nice to have alternative options to cover my time costs and be able to give some benefits to the moderators who keep this place civil and respectful. One of these days maybe.
If anyone knows any app developers, I'd love to talk to them to see what they could do and what sort of costs would be involved!

I just think that in today's world we need to constantly stay up to date with with the savvy way of social networking. This site is argueably the best fisho web site going around. Imagine the edge you would have on your competitors if you we're the first to have a downloadable app packed with easy to use features. It would catch on for those with smart phones and tablets. But each to their own I guess. Maybe you should post the topic to get the mojo rising. I'm sure you can do it.

I always have fish wrecked on its own page in my iPhones browser and just pull up another page for other stuff,and I don't have tokeep putting in my user name and password,I do check it every available chance I get but is this what you mean by staying logged in? The forum works great on my phone in my opinion but if there is more to gain by creating an app I would deff purchase too!
