What are the Stripers like as a game fish and for eating?

Interesting looking fish - bucket?
They look like a cross between our mulloway and our trump(eter) - though, I suspect, somewhat more highly rated than the latter!
What's the idea of the belt mounted (square) bucket?

Stripper
Colin, that is the stripper bucket, where your stripped line sits till you cast it out saves you getting it tangled on the boat.

They are a bass, great
They are a bass, great fighters like tailor, can be eaten and better fresh but these guys are mainly catch and release and only keep one or two for dinner through out the week
