"flying foxing your bait in"

tonight at eshed i had a play around, belted out a grappel sinker and got it nice and snug at the bottom then cliped on a weighted bait and send it running down the line, worked pretty well, took a min or 2 for it to get to the other end but i achived baits out a lot further distance, (how good this is i dont know/overly care) im sure its common practise but i thort it was a pretty niffy idea.

was using an 80gram grappel on a 12ft beach rod with 40lb mono and at a guess got it out about 100m judging by the half empty spool. (not to good at pendulem yet) id struggle to get a 3rd of this with a large bait.

any one else to this when putting out larger baits because of wind drag in a normal cast with the rig?

dead as unfortunatly, baits only got the guts chewed out, might have to update the rig to keep the bait off the floor
