Forgot my Sinkers and needed help

Guys

I left my sinker bucket at home and only realised 20 mile off shore. I was tempted to find another boat around me and ask them if I could buy some but didn't want them thinking I was ping there spots. Would of you cared or helped us out or would you tell me to get lost? I would of help someone out if they come up to me but was not sure what anyone else would of thought?

Knife jigs would probably be the next best thing if you had them.

spark plugs make reasonable sinkers.....not suggesting you use the ones out of your engine...hehehe.
But if you asked me for a couple of sinkers out yonder I would gladly give .

AS above, I would have just improvised, either with jigs, or tools. A spanner makes a reasonable weight,

A couple of weeks ago I arrived to a dive spot and realised I didn't have my dive weights and my buddy only had one spare. I ended up just grabbing ashort anchor chain off a spare anchor, chucking it in my bcd pocket, and away I went.

Guys we got through the day

Guys we got through the day doing just that, tying 4 small sinkers together but with the wind yesterday morning it was a struggle to hold bottom even with a sock out. We had to go back to one hook and just held bottom. We ended up with an 8kg Dhuie, 2kg Baldie and two big blackarse. I just would not have cared if anyone came up to me and asked for help but the other bloke on my boat reckons we couldn't do that. No shops out there unfortunately and I know the expense that goes into just going fishing every week.

If you are gonna approach another boat, it's best if you can do it when they start moving instead of bobbing around so they know you're not just coming over to ping your spots. Offering some beers or fish always helps though :p

None of my spots seem to have any fish on them so certainly wouldn't worry me!
