Hi guys
Has anyone been down to Harvey or welly dam over the weekend? Which dam do you guys prefer for perch and trout? What parts of the dam are the best to target this time of year?
Thanks

Harvey
for me , was closer n got good results with the kayak on a few trout n reddies.
Fish the sticks casting lures or small plastics just keep moving till you find fish. Similar if your shore based but bit harder, n keep an eye out for wind lines as fish do cruise up n down them,

I have heard of the sticks but don't know where it is? What do you mean by wind lines?

The sticks
are the old trees and logs that will be sticking out of the water or just beneath and at Harvey you just take one of the turnoff to the dam and drive around till you find em very easy .
Wind lines can be a little more tricky but basically they are caused by wind crossing the dam .This can leave areas that are protected from the wind, meaning you get water that is disturbed running up against water that isn't. Very similar to ocean currents impacting against each other , always good to troll along because insects which float are easily picked off by the fish cruising the line that is created .
