hey wangler on your bottom lock page you your interpret the RHS flare up to be the green eyes and then the gap in the bottom to be the edge of the cliff?

You might be onto something Rig

My 587 shows those gaps on the bottom lock screen but not on the normal screen, I just thought that it was loosing the signal due to turbulence around the transom mount tranny.

Looking at that pic the gap is right where the drop off is, maybe that's the Furuno way of telling us that there is a sudden change in depth on the bottom lock screen?

That was along the lines of what i was thinking, depending on the edge of that cliff plus the distance to the transducer, the beam could get distorted hence the gap, or maybe its just a coincidence.  I havent deep dropped before so dont take my comments too seriously

Yep, we get greeneys on similar, but my 1kW 587 is not as defined as your beast.

Is that depth right

Holly hell if my eyes are not deceiving me 421 metres down!!! how much line out do you have out to fish that sort of depth. And what sort of weight have you got on the end of your line.
My next question is, have you fished the Diamantina trench, (just joking Wangler) I've never heard of any one fishing that sort of depth before you are truly taking line fishing into the next frontier, well done.

Sick readings on your Furuno Dougy!

No doubt it's 420m and that's no even deep for these boys.

Once did a drop in 580m with Tony (Southcity104) and here recently he's dropped in 700's!!!!
