Fishwrecked Big Day Out... kinda got this idea from WAngler but I think it would be kool to get all the fishwrecked crew together for a fish.

Quite a bit of planning involved and it would have to be at a location where most people could get to quite easily (midwest?) and during a time when people could get away and have time off work etc..

I wouldn't expect anything to happen too soon but just an idea for the future. The sooner we get the idea out there, the sooner we can make it happen.

Look forward to hearing other peoples oppinions and whether or not they would be interested in something like this in the future.

Cheers.

Exmouth but more co-ordinated

Sat, 2006-08-19 18:49

Hard to get everyone together that's for sure, but the best chance we have is with 4 or 5 consecutive FW parties heading to Exmouth last month , if only we had organised it a little better we could have all been fishing at the same time.

I know booking accommodation has been difficult, but if we got in early we could perhaps get sufficiently organised to make it happen next year.

Cheers

Umm.....I guess any time from late march to about Aug......before its windy more often and too hot. Late May to Early Aug seems to be the most popular.

Sounds great

Sat, 2006-08-19 19:59

Looking to head up about November to Exmouth with one or two other boats. If there is anyone that wants to tag along with a boat no worries. Might even have room for one person. Hardest thing is finding guys to take the time away from work and family. Also looking to do next years GAMEX which i think is in March.

Just a thought but why not think about a fishwrecked fishing comp here in perth. Not to much money and a few trophies with a few beers and BBQ at the end of the day can turn out to be a good weekend and you dont need to travel far if its in perth.

Just a thought..........

Not everyone is in Perth bouttime. I've seen things like that on other sites and heaps of people up north have to miss out.

Good location

Sat, 2006-08-19 20:11

What would be a good location for most to be able to come along yet not to far that you need to take to much time away.

I know its hard but you cant please everybody.

I am happy to travel almost anywhere as long as the fishing is good and the beer is cold.

Up north comp

Sat, 2006-08-19 22:06

Could maybe include up north in the competition on a photo entry basis, if you can put the timestamp on the bottom corner of it. But its such different fishing up there so it would have to be a different league, north of capricorn possibly.

I like the idea of having a fishing day out. I will do some thinking about it and see if we can organise something.

Kool thanks Adam... like I

Kool thanks Adam... like I said before, no rush. Something for next year would be cool as I know most people would probably be tied up for the rest of the year and need quite a bit of notice.

In response to bouttime, I understand you can't please everyone but that's why I said somewhere kinda mid-west would be good so that the travelling distance is a bit more fair for everyone.

Sun, 2006-08-20 10:31

I would love to get my tub up EXXY for a week in winter .

Metro

Sun, 2006-08-20 10:42

Well, Im thinking a metro comp to start with, if we can get enough numbers and people interested then we can start discussing about somewhere with a greater fish population. Problem is that there are a lot of south metro fishers and quite a few northerners, just need to figure out how to work it. Maybe if we all did a trip to like two rocks or somewhere, more chance of getting fish and a bit of a adventure. Just a thought thou.

two rocks would be good or even lanclin as the big fish are right in close and you only need a 13 ft tinnie to do serious fishing there dhuies etc.

Fishing

Sun, 2006-08-20 11:54

Sounds like an awsome idea. always good to have a bit of friendly comp between fisho,s. Either way would be good to have a beer and a BBQ afterwards and meet some of you guys. Was thinking if every one who entered the comp put in a few bucks that would cover the cost for a few prizes for diferent catagories. Im sure if we sucked up to Ryan he may even sponcer the comp with a small prize(HINT,HINT).
