garmin echomap 45cv
Hi guys,
i dont use fishwrecked much but if someone could help me it would be much appreciated,
i recently brought the garmin echomap 45cv sounder from bcf for $449,
yesterday i hooked it up and thought i would enter some coordinates,
i entered the d9 wreck gps coordinates at S 32°01.145, E 115°32.872,
the waypoint was showing right next to rottnest island which i know is not where the d9 wreck is,
i then googled rottnest gps coordinates and they seems to be way off aswell,
do you think i have brought a faulty sounder and should take it back? or is this something with the settings?
i also do not have the transudcer cable plugged in yet as i been told its not good to have it plugged in while the boat is not in water.
please if any advice before i take it back (if needed)

Probably Not
Your plotter is probably fine. You more than likely do not have your region set properly.

D9 Coordinates
Your problem is the coordinates you have shown above are not the coordinates for the D9 in Cockburn Sound.

Really ? I got these coordinates off perth fishing reports on the Facebook page. Are they way off or just a little bit? Because the waypoint was near rottnest island? Scotto I will check the region on my sounder. Is this just in the settings ?
Thanks guys

Well if it's on Facebook then it must be fact
I've never fished D9 on my boat but if I was I'd be looking more around S32.11.800 E115.44.500
