Gel coat spider crack

 Gday All,

I saw this morning, there are a gel crack along the side of the  hull ( I am not sure since when)

Is this need to be fix immidiately? i am bit tight on budget, planning to fix it next year.

how much do you think it will cost to fix it (rough estimate)?  have a lot of sentimental with the tub so not planning to sell it

Thanks

 generally i wouldnt be too

generally i wouldnt be too bothered by them but with the spot they are in maybe there is structual issues with the ribbing. is there a way you can have a look under the deck. it may just be the boat isnt sitting in the rollers correctly and over time the gel coat has gone like that, Greg at G T fibreglass would be a good place to start to get it fixed

witout seeing your trailer

witout seeing your trailer set up i am guessing but i reckon you need more rollers or reshuffle of existing rollers
the cracks appear to be near the rollers, so the cracks are occuring during transit (bouncing on trailer)however there dont appear to be any (in the pics provided) along the usual stress lines spots of the hull strakes or chine - this tells me that the you may have too few rollers or as FF stated above rollers are not correctly placed

Doesn’t look too bad

By the looks of it your boat is a little on the not too new side. Gel coat crazing is pretty common in older boats. If your hull is still water tight I wouldn't be worried in the slightest.

Stress spider cracks in the hull and superstructure of glass boats is normal. Don’t worry unless they open up

If only on roller area then would guess that the boat was very heavy when loaded onto the trailer.

Fix: small tin of gel or flow coat put some in a small cup with hardener (to ratio )and put on with a plastic scraper (like bog filler) let dry then polish off.Major chips can be repaired the same way as long as there is no moisture coming out of the hole.

Major long term two pack the hole hull.

Just a suggestion.
