Gnaraloo report 2017
So a bit of a delayed report but here it is.
As with other reports lately the wind was a big killer for us but we managed to get the first two days in and it was action packed, the fish were on the chew everywhere we went. It's a shame we couldn't have had a third day to top it off. Anyway as the pics show below a PB Baldy for me of 4.8kg and a PB Rankin of 9.5KG on Plastic with my Gomoku and 4k Stella. We caught 9 reds in two days and as you can see an assortment of other things. The Macks were red hot just out of the bay and one of thos efunny stories where the boys in the other boat were about to pull their jet lure out of the water when it got taken by about a 10 kg Spaniard.
Good to see fellow memeber Nick82 up there with his mate Shane0, he's a bloody charachter Nick if you're reading this. The boys came up for beers about 4.30 one arvo and left around 10 lol so it was shrivelled Lasagna for tea, but a top talking, drinking and laughing Sesh.
We took my mate's dad Peter up there who's never done this kind of fishing before and it blew him away. He had some awesome yarns to tell about his travels as I think he's visited just about every station up this coast.
Went for a big walk around the station dumping grounds and the workshop areas etc, it's a real shame that the place is so run down and really needs a big clean up and some TLC
Anyway it's booked again for next year and I'll keep going back there as it's in my opinion the best fishing this state has to offer. It takes a bit of an effort to get in there and is hard on the car and boat trailer, but if you prepare well you'll have no dramas.

Good effort as always
Looks as though you got that place well and truly mapped out. I have only been there the once and yes it is pretty rundown nowadays and hard on cars and trailers. But the fishing can be awesome if you manage to get out.

Hit and Miss
That's the trouble with Gnaraloo, weather can be hit or miss any time of the year.
Many years back, son and I arrived one day ahead of the other two boats, unloaded , set up mooring and went for a quick run out. Bag limit of 20 pinks in 11 minutes, couple of rankins and red emps each then back in. The others never took their boats off the trailers for the rest of their fortnights stay.
That is how we invented "two can" fishing, full can in stubby holder in back pocket and open one in top pocket, walk along flicking lures till top can has been drunk, swap with full one and that is how long it takes to get back to esky. Sit down have another can, reload then head off in other direction. Didn't catch a lot of fish this way but who cares, it was most enjoyable.

Thanks for the pics and good to see Paul, or someone handy fix the filleting bench. Our turn next week. Weather looking just as ordinary as yours so far. Fingers crossed for a few good days. The charts say no at the moment. Those Rankin are very decent. See you next year buddy at Gnaraloo.

Picture of the reds
In the picture of the reds and half a Mackie that has been filleted, is the bottom half of the Mackie missing because the taxman took his share. It looks like you still got a good fillet of it
Well done on the catch with good variety and size.
