Kalbarri this week
Have seen a pink snapper caught at red bluff, and a taylor at wittercarra creek.
have caught an under size of just about everything in the river.
went on a charter yesterday the boat saw snapper, golden trevally, amberjack, rankin cod, baldchin, and painted sweetlip. But not a lot caught and some people going home empty handed. Weather was not ideal with an easterly blowing and a large swell earlier in the week. i notice charter boat has not gone out this morning, but dont know the reason.
the tackle shop in town has a sign out the front reporting taylor at the mouth of the river, mulloway and crabs at the jetty, but the bloke at the counter was not particularly helpful when a tourist asked for advice (i was in the store and overheard)
reports of crabs at the jetty, but have only seen one undersize.

Dont get me wrong, ive had an awesome week, and am not complaining. Just stating the facts as I have experienced them this week If you always catch something it would be called catching, not fishing. I am comfortable with that.
The crew in reefwalker did a great job in ordinary conditions and I,ll go out with them again.

Careful
Be careful who you write off James on a forum lots of people look at. I was up in kalbarri 2 weeks ago battling a huge swell. Time and effort when my wife let me ;) got a few fish off the rocks. Being prepared to get up real early or stay late can be the key, not fishing daylight like most. Keep casting but sometimes it's just s bit quiet
i went out on reef walker and caught plenty of fish all day close in including my PB north hampton dhufish. fortunately i was able to finish of the day with a proper dhui about 6kg. There were people on the boat who didn't catch much at all possibly due to inexperience but the boys on reef walker let the rest of the boat get a few fish so everyone went home with a feed. When you have your own boat, charters seem expensive but the boys on Reefwalker did a good job and for me it was s good day out on a nice boat. Would go again really cruisy guys

Kalbarri Report
Just had this sent via email from Getaway Oudoors.....
There has been some good action around the river mouth, with anglers throwing baits and poppers around for big Tailor, both from shore and boats. There have been Tailor to almost a metre caught. Those putting in the hours at night have been catching some nice Mulloway, the best reported around 20 kilos. There have been some chopper Tailor around the jetties and some soapy Mulloway. There are also a few Black Bream in the same area.
The Murchison is also producing a few estuary Cod and Javelin Fish, but Mangrove Jack are hard to find. Yellowfin Whiting are also in good numbers in the shallows, which is good news for the Kids' Whiting Competition during the school holidays. Better numbers of Blue Swimmer Crabs are starting to move into the river, and there are a few mud crabs around as well. Red Bluff has been worth a try for Garfish when the weather has improved.
Cheers,
