Going for Tailor

Hi guys new to the site and WA for that matter, so fishing here is quite different from back in Scotland. I Was fishing the beaches of the norther subs for tailor and hooked up on this nice eagle ray, not sure of wieght as forgot to pack the scales. It wasnt a huge fish but put up a fair fight. It took 3 attempt to get it to leave,  but eventually swam back to sea.

Where are the best places to try for tailor, appreciate any marks to fish.

just be very carefull those rays have a barb on the tail that can be deadly! do a search on tailor and there is heaps of info on the site! but generally the northern beaches ! if you fill in your profile you will get more of a responce

Thanks guys,

Just read the posting "Stingray handling" nice feed and info. I was aware of there sting and was being very cautious of it. It did try to flick its tail near the jewels, hence the reason for my pose.

Mandurah

Good stretch of beaches near Mandurah that in summer you can usually catch some tailor :)

Singleton, Golden Bay, San Remo... that area.

We always go to San Remo.. just go to the right side of the groin.

Good luck and nice eagle ray :)

Club Capricorn

Have been getting some nice tailor just on dusk at Club Capricorn. Will need to used grapnel sinkers due to current between the reef and shore. Bite usually only last about an hour after sun goes down.
