Yes- from behind Garden
Yes- from behind Garden Island. It was a bit choppy around the reefs and the swell made things interesting,as in keeping a look out for the bigger sets coming thru.

You should see the spot I found yesterday, dodgey as, the roughest tailor water I have ever fished. I'm calling it the Honeywell, over 30 tailor in an hour all released

Hey Beau- I look forward to
Hey Beau- I look forward to going out with you to checkout the "Honeywell" when you get back.
Also this morning, I got busted off,and lost the Waxwing-so I rigged up the gold/black popper for the first time,as the water was really murky and stirred up with the swells coming thru.
I'm hooked on the Popper! Much more exciting way to catch the tailor, they hit hard on the surface and the aerials stunts are unbelievable. I also lost the landing net this morning,so when the swell settlers down,I'm going for a snorkle to find it.

We pretty much only troll
We pretty much only troll with poppers, tail hook only, facing up, floating lure, never snag them or rarely catch weed but most important is the airborne tailor and surface strikes smashing them, try trolling or cast retrieve with no hooks when they are hot for some fun
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.
