A good way to kill time

With the boat broken a good way to kill boredom is to head down the gulf to catch some bait. A bonus was the 6 crabs we got which were walking around the sides of the net. The smallest was 136mm and the biggest was 178mm.

If you like smoked fish
and have a smoker put some of those mullet in the smoker. They smoke up really well. Oily fish = nice smoked.

killing time
i have tried them many years ago Dry smoked and they were sh@#, they were so nice ,but now i turn them in to good fish to eat
the crabs were cooked in a garlic sauce and they went down so well ,the boys and my self ate the lot mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
the mullet are ready for the next day off Lucky {still frozen i hope }

some ripper fat mullet there jeffo! hope you and the boys can get out with lucky and tow a few of those around for a bill! if not drop a slab for a big red or trout! sure you will convert them one way or the other! nice crabs too bud = added bonus
dont believe him if he tells you ya dosnt get trout in his spots....... bastard lol

Looks like a bit of fun mate! Could u fill me in on what kind of net it was? The only reason i ask is that years ago in K-town when i was a youngen i remember setting and checking gill nets. Is it anything like this or am i way off?! cheers

paul you hit the nail on the head mate 3,1/4 inch and just under 60m set net
clint,clint,clint, it is so much easer for me to fish down your way mate, i got ALL the spots for around the cape ,
i just need more time to get out there ,now i got some GOOD bait finaly

Big john yer mate easy to fix just got to book it in with the sparky he said it would be a 10 min job ,cutting and joining the main leads to the out board ,all the rest is good so it shouldnt be too long ,at least i got some good bait tho
