GoPro vid- Jurien Bay

Headed up to Jurien last weekend to spend some time with the Lady before i'm off for work again. Had a great day on the water, after a night of heavy rain the monday cleared right up for us. The objective was to take her for a swim with the sea lions for a few hours. After a late checkout and a bit of trolling for nothing we ran out of daylight to wet the scuba gear.
Put together a short vid on the sea lions.
Have to love some of these winter days, might be a bit chilly, but the sun is out the winds are light and the water is clear:)

cheers
Do it for sure Marc, that rock is the same place the charters go to so they're really playful and used to people, We usually pay a visit each time were up in Jurien. They all just sit and watch from the beach but as soon as the anchor chain starts rattling out its game on and they spring up and start racing in for a play.
Never had any get bitey anywhere, they usually just wanna play and mimic a bit of common sense and they're fine.
This time though had two bigguns brawling on the beach... then it spilled into the water.... figured better get out and swam towards the boat... dont wanna get caught up in this..... of course they beat us and proceeded to brawl at the back of the ladder while we bobbed around 15metres away... ahh shiiiiit

Cool, yeah when i looked into it they said at a certin time of the year the bull seals head up fromshoal island marine park rockingham and mate with the females in jurien. They sad its best not going then because the big males see you as competition.
Really looking forward to it!! Were there any pups around?

Yea pretty sure its jan-march
Yea pretty sure its jan-march is the mating season, all the boys live south and the girls north. Saw some pups last time we were up in april not tiny ones though, dont know much about sea lions but guessing between 8-12months old... maybe?? but they've never entered the water. Wouldn't want to swim with them incase mum is around :)
