got my skippers ticket
Submitted by Blacky on Thu, 2010-03-04 19:19
my mrs and i got our skippers ticket today! wasn't as hard as i thought. One/two runs through the book and a bit of Q/A with the mrs and we got through it ok. Was pretty windy so picking up the "man over-board" was pretty funny. Oh and we had a nice crowd over watching from the Breakwater in hillarys.
should of got some pictures of our maiden voyage! oh well maybe next time

Well done good to see you
Well done good to see you did the ,On water part of the test should be compulsury as you only need to sit at the ramp and you soon learn that many wouldn't know how to drive a boat to save there lives.

haha yea thanks fellas.
haha yea thanks fellas. Pretty keen to get out there....only problem is that i got sunburnt as hell! rookie mistake!!!
apart from that was a good 4 hrs....lots of lessons already learnt and im sure still plenty to come.
Check out the quokka for skippers ticket....there are a few, the bloke we used was 'Jim'....top bloke, easy to get along with and full of knowledge. With my boat was $110ea for group of 3. That included about 2 hrs on water and 1 hr running through basics and exam.....didnt take too long on the theory as we had studied up alot before hand, could pretty much recite the book.
was going to head out on the river tomorrow morning but this sunburn is the worst ive EVER had....haha
