Was diving not too far from there last weekend
They are becoming all too popular around the place now, only a matter of time before another person is bitten unfortunately.
And at 5m, doesn't matter if you have a Shark shield, spear gun or anything else for that matter, if it gets into a feeding frenzy a bit like this then look out.

Video
On the video it seems that they 'let' the salmon loll around in the whites vicinity, that was the result. Can't blame bruce for that.

C!nts of things. I had a bad experience at mewstone a few years back while spearing- got buzzed / chased / absolutley harrassed for about 5 mins while swimming back to the boat by a 2.5 - 3m whaler.

It was my new boat7.62
It was my new boat7.62 centre console, David and his Dad were out in it yesterday , whilst i was at work ,pulling pots and then having a go at the salmon , that salmon was by no means left lolling about in the water, ever caught one on light gear , not easy things to bring in , they hooked the salmon before the shark turned up , it must have been shadowing the school ,my new boat has some nice scratches and a bite mark on the gunnel courtesy of the big barstard second close encounter in 3 months in the area with the bloody things !

mmmm the vid on fb tells a different story boys. What the news footage doesnt show is one of the boys egging the white on to catch the salmon!! And then bang into the boat!

Tangles just where in the facebook video does it show the boys egging the shark on ?
Have you or can you read the above post , the fish was hooked on light gear they averaged about 6kg , not an easy thing to stop on light gear especially, the fish was on Andys line and had run underneath the boat and away , before the shark turned up, Andy was only trying to retrieve it and not really aware of the shark being there as he was facing away from it in the bow of the boat, if you look at the video the entire scenario took place in approx 60 seconds even though the vid runs for nearly 2 minutes , hardly time to even consider "egging"the shark on , seems to be alot of " experts " appearing from the woodwork, making judgements about a situation that they know very little about !

I was fishing the same school
I was fishing the same school at the same time, although didn't see the shark. There were big salmon jumping out of the water frequently, probably being chased by the great white.
