Greenies to put on a show for Gillard...why don't anglers do the same?
See below...an email sent out by our pro marine park friends. They want to put on a show for the PM and her chums...reckon they'd love for it be totally a green crowd.
Why don't some anglers head down there in Columbia shirts and fishing gear and make ourselves heard as well? Maybe tow a boat or two down there.
Time to stop being apathetic, this is a rare chance to be heard, or at least seen.
The meeting is full, they've already loaded that, so we can't get in. But we can be seen outside...I fish and I vote and all that.
"As someone within a short drive of South Fremantle who has supported the push for marine protection, I thought you'd like to know about this.
In a fortnight, just before the Federal Government releases draft marine sanctuary maps for the South West, Julia Gillard's entire Cabinet of Ministers will hold a community meeting at South Fremantle Senior High School - and we'd love you to join us.
It's a rare opportunity to let the PM and her ministers know that Western Australians are right behind marine sanctuaries and that the Government should listen to science and protect the homes of our whales, turtles, fur seals and other marine life.
There are three things you can do to help use this opportunity to save our marine life:
1) Register online to attend the meeting. You will need to act fast (within the next day or two) as seats usually go quickly. Visit http://www.dpmc.gov.au/community_cabinet/index.cfm
2) You can request a 10 minutes one-on-one meeting with any minister to put your case about sanctuaries from a personal perspective. These appointments fill up very rapidly so register using the contact details provided via the above link.
3) Join everyone from Save Our Marine Life outside the school in a visual display of support for marine life. Show your support by being as blue as you can be. Wear blue clothes, blue zinc, or even face paint (we have some paint!). Or bring your snorkel and mask. It'll be great fun. Meet at the car park entrance on Lefroy Street at 5.15pm.
RSVP by replying to this email.
What: A rare opportunity to get our marine message direct to the Prime Minister and her Cabinet!
When: 5.15pm Wednesday 30 March 2011.
Where: South Fremantle Senior High School, Lefroy Street, Beaconsfield.
Why: Because a once in a generation chance to protect the homes of our threatened marine life is on the line (and it'll be hugely fun and satisfying)."

And the son.
And when I went back there with a independent witness, to photograph the net,the local fisheries tried to arrest me, but when he saw it was me, and he was the fisheries plod I had reported the net to originally, he was most displeased.
The son of the father who set the net was in the boat with the fishery plod, the fisheries had the unhappy task of pulling the net and releasing over 400 big black bream.
Later the next day, I rang the fishery plod and asked was there going to be a conviction, I was told that"BECAUSE THE NET, HAD NO ID BOUY ON IT THEY COULD NOT PROVE WHOSE NET IT WAS".......................ha ha ha bovine scat.
When asked what the fishery plods did with the 30 or so Black bream that could not be released, again I was told, that they had taken the 30 black bream around to Wattle lodge, old peoples home and donated them to the kitchen , AGAIN I DID A CHECK, THE CHEF SAID, "THAT NO FISH HAD BEEN DELIVERED.
So who got the illegally caught Bream???, I ask that question.

Hey Guys,Anyone keen on going
Hey Guys,
Anyone keen on going on 6PR to discuss this - Lisa Barnes is a reporter for the Paul Murray Morning Show and she has asked if anyone is interested to discuss their views on this topic.
I have confirmed with her that it will be an unbiased discussion from all parties involved. Im Sure this cant hurt the cause. It would actually be good publicity. Im just waiting for her to reply. Once i hear back ill let you all know.

chaps fifty kids in a chain
chaps fifty kids in a chain line with a $10 Kmart combo in their hands sends a strong pro-kids fishing message to the PM!!!!
For less than $600 we could get kids shouting at the PM and on national TV / Seven news etc... that fishing is better than drugs...
I'd even buy a brand new bicycle for the first kid to cast a sinker into the Gingers head and reel her in with a nice 5/0 hook...
I can't make it till way after work, due to work issues, but if you lined the streets with kids and fishing rods, with each rod hanging a paper fish saying Fishing is Better than Drugs,,, you will get national, if not international coverage.
Now who can sponsor a few rods for kids, I'll put $50 into a pool Scotty, can your mag come up with a few dollars from the sponsors?

yippee.
The Greens have lost the balance of power in the NSW legislative Council, to the horror of Bob and the Greens, the SHOOTERS AND FISHING PARTY, and the CHRISTIAN DEMOCRATS won 2 seats each, and the greens are out..............yippee, now all we have to do is make this happen in Canberra.

Not sure if this helps any, but have just been informed that Gillard's cabinet ministers are being taken for drinks after the Community meeting to the Swan Yacht Club to rub shoulders with all the state Labor MP's, of course Gillard won't be there, she is on a plane back home.

Not a surprise
goes to show what can be thrown together at short notice.Imagine what fishos could get done if they had more time to get sorted. From the looks of it they got the message across.
So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?

Went well guys!
We clearly outnumbered the many other interest groups and were front and centre for the live cross...
Probably 150 anglers there, good result at short notice. We got good coverage on 6PR and the ABC and West Australian spoke to us.
The shark costume a highlight...
Well done to all who attended!!!

Excellent
Good to hear it went well, thanks to ALL those who went, means a lot to those who couldn't like myself.
Be great if we could somehow harness this initial momentum and go forward getting more active and influential.

I had to work to 5pm Jody, by the time I was finished and out it was close to 6pm and would have never got there in time for the rally. I'm not one scared to carry a banner, but some of us do work in the city and can't get out.
As for the eoamn with the knife, it was relaid to me by people there and that the police where watching the woman with care.
She is know to the police and turns up at all sorts of rallies.... not one of our crowd I was told.
and of late, I have been putting in a lot of private time searching for information on our Prof Jessica and her merry bunch, finding out a lot that will damage her credinility in future stuff.
In fact I have a strong letter to the Editor of The West, in which I am asking her to please explain her links to oil people, and exploration in the King Sound.
