guilderton vs. seabird

Hey guys I've scored two days off so want to get out of the house for the night. As the girlfriend is coming, camping on the sand unfortunately won't do.

I'm tossing up between seabird and guilderton caravan parks...

is guilderton/moore river beach much better fishing? and has anybody lately seen what condition the beaches are in?

also, can anybody tell me if seabird tavern is open monday nights. that could seal the deal Cool

Cheers!!

Don't know about the tavern

Don't know about the tavern ... the meals have been shite lately as the place is shutting down soon to make way for holiday units. Moore river beach is awsome for tailor early morning. Seabird beach north of the van park is good for skippy and herring.

Get a double swag

Sun, 2010-11-28 19:14

Camping on the sand won't do? OMG.. Where is the adventure these days?? LOL

Lots of decent double swags around these days and far more comfy and fun than a holiday bed that has been shagged to death! LOL

Being an old fart though I have come to the conclusion that a woman's camping trip must incluse a spa and a loo. Not to mention the DVD player and a decent bottlo.. LOL

Ended up going the tent

Tue, 2010-11-30 16:26

Ended up going the tent option in Guilderton overnight. Spent about 4 hours around/after sunset just south of the groyne for not a single bite. Same story for the other few there. Oh well at least the cans were cold.

Drove to seabird for lunch today at the tav... should have saved my money. Beach was fantastic though, plenty of whiting for the soft plastics anyhow.

Guilderton's a beauty of a spot so close, it will be a shame when it's eventually swallowed by Perth!

Too right Lunker. When that beach is firing it's awesome. Early mornings in summer when I go there I always bag out. Slightly north of the river mouth is good.
