Heavy in the ass

Hi guys,
I have a Webster 5.2m twinfisher which is currently sitting in the water aft heavy with it’s F115 on the transom.
I am looking into ways of adjusting the weight on board so she sits a little more “balanced” in the water at rest. Once under way there is no problems.
The first and most obvious thing to do in my opinion is to relocate the fuel tank.
Currently it has a 100lt fuel tank tucked away in the transom at deck level just in front of the outboard, so the weight of the outboard and the 100kgs or so of the tank and fuel is making this baby sit a little heavy in the ass.
I am looking into removing that tank and installing two fuel tanks ....one in each hull of the cat. In my opinion this would be the best option for adjusting the weight and will keep the C/G right down.
Obviously the location of these two tanks will be quite critical but with a bit of homework and experimenting with weights on the boat it shouldn’t be to hard to figure out an ideal location for the tanks in the hulls.
What I am looking for is a recommendation of a fabricator who would be able to carry out this work or any other suggestions of how to balance this boat a bit better taking in mind that moving batteries, adjusting the way I load the boat or what ever is not really an option as everything else is where it is needed and practical for my use .....but still there could be something I have not thought about and welcome any suggestions.
To move the fuel tanks to where I think they should go will require the deck to be cut open on each side and the two tanks installed and then re sealed to maintain the added security of two water tight pontoons which is a feature of the cats I like.
Anyway, look forward to any advise.
Cheers,
Steve

Id try a hydrofoil see if
Id try a hydrofoil see if that helps
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

Once under way is no problem.....I'm looking to have the boat sitting level at rest so that won't really help...thanks anyway.

Sand bags
As a way to test changing the location of weight you could use 4 or 6 of the bunnings 20kg sand bags close to where you want the new tanks to be and launch the boat with a light fuel load. this will let you work out where the weight needs to be for best static balance. How it will affect the boat when running with or abeam a nasty chop would also need to be taken into consideration. You can't change one thing without effecting something else.
The good thing about the bunnings sand is you can use it for other things or return it for a refund

Yea that sounds like a good idea, it would definitely be worth moving the weight around and taking it for a run to see what the effects are on performance.
Cheers.

a mate of mine has 2 brand new
ali 150 litre tanks that he had made for his shark cat but never used as he bought a bigger cat .let me know if you want them im sure he will do them at a great price.
normally the fuel tanks in cats are about where the cabin bulkhead is just under the seats

Hey scottnofish,That could
Hey scottnofish,
That could work for me. The tanks are a bit bigger than I was thinking but only by 50lts or so and having 300lt on board would certainly give me good range. I recon I would be able to make it to Geraldton from here.!
Definitely will look into it though so I guess if you could give me the dimensions of the tanks and maybe a pic showing where the fittings are and fill point I will be able to figure out of they have a chance of fitting in my hulls.
I was thinking that roughly under the seats somewhere would be the place. Somewhere close to the balance point of the hull so as fuel is used it doesn't change the weight distribution as much.
I will do some experimenting with sand bags.
Cheers.

Any recommendations of
Any recommendations of someone who could do this work ?
Looking on some old threads Bullet boats get mentioned and there is also Epic.
Is there anyone else worth looking at that does this kind of work ?
I'm in Parmelia so Bullet are close but don't mind traveling if there is someone people have had good experiences with.
