Hello all, I'm new to the forum and Perth, a couple of questions...

Hello To the people of Wa, I have been a member of fish wrecked for a few weeks now, however this is my first post.
I have been I'n wa for a couple of weeks now after driving over from Victoria and have been really fortunate to fish some great locations like walpoll and Albany. I also fished the metro area last weekend namely Brighton and city beach as well as Claremount jetty ( god damm puffers, what's the crack with them?)
Anyway my question is: As its the long weekend coming up, what are some good Land based locations approximately 2-3 hrs north of perth where I can take the camper van away and stay close to the beach to do some surf OR estuary fishing
Any local knowledge would be much appreciated
Cheers

Spots
Any of the coastal towns north to Geraldton should have a fish or two., starting from Seabird, Ledge point, Lancelin and Cervantes and Jurien bay, with the exception of Seabird, fish off the jetties for herring, tailor etc.
At any of the caravan parks ask at the shop or local servo for info on where to go, most times they are only too glad to help.

Cervantes is a great place,
Cervantes is a great place, easy to catch fish off the main beach and jetty, plus you can drive right up to the water.
Some massive rays on the main beach too if ya want a bit of fun.
Great snagga rolls in the shop if you can get there before they all get snapped up!

Cheers for the heads up, just got back from a morning fish on the swannie, had to have another go after Claremount,
Fished under the kwinana bridge got 5 legal sized bream I'n a few hrs kept 1 too see if the swannie bream taste alright.
While I was there I spoke to another fisho and he told me about Cervantes, so I'm going to give that a go.
Anyone know any bush camping spots close to the water, I'm trying to save some pennies for a t-curve!!

Was just up in Cervantes
Was just up in Cervantes mate, and you might want to give that a miss. Water was almost tea coloured (usually crystal) and there were no fish about the LB sites I hit. No one was catching anything, and locals were putting it down to the recent storms and high water temps.
Apparently people are doing very well off shore, but nothing for those of us without boats. Went for a snorkel at Hangover Bay (just south of Cervantes) and there was low vis and heaps of jellies! Locals were telling me there are more jellies and sea snakes about than they have had in recent memory.
Hate to disappoint you, maybe you will do better than me.
