Help I've lost my bearings...

Well bearing (singular) anyway...

A mate and I made a last minute decision to head out for an evening fish in the Sound last night.  We didn't see any action other than a bit of fun with a medium sized ray and a few junk fish.  The sunset was nice though.

Anyway we got back to the ramp at about 8.30pm and pulled the boat in, hit the main drag back to the Freeway and I noticed the back tyre on the boat trailer sticking out wider than the mud-guard.  I pulled over to see what was going on and when we looked at the back of the tyre we found the thing had nearly come off the axle... there might have been an inch of axle holding the tyre on.

After a short wait the father-in-law came down and brought a decent jack and a few tools so we could replace it.

Glad we spotted it then rather than seeing it take something out on the Freeway when we'd got some speed up!

Yeah I think we'll do all four to be sure.  Not sure the last time they were done as I leave the mechanical stuff for the rellies (family boat) who are a bit more mechanically minded.
