Help - trailer spring replacement

So I buy a boat off a private seller on the weekend, then drive it home and one of the springs break.  Today I get told the trailer was originally from America and that it is near impossible to find a replacement spring !! Can anyone else who has been in the same position please let me know where I can source American springs for my trailer - I can probably import them in but I have a planned camping/boating trip planned for next week and need to replace it this weekend.

Any help appreciated - I live in the southwest but will travel to Perth...

Cheers

What are you options about taking the buggered spring pack off and taking it into a suspension shop to see if we have one like it? Worst comes to worst, i imagine if the hangers are corect, you might be able to change them all over to aussie ones??

 Martins will sort you out.

Martins will sort you out. If they don't have them they will point you in the right direction.

drive it to martins if you can,

They should have your spring.

If they dont, buy 4 new ones, and new hangers, weld them on and hang the springs.  Should take half a day to do all 4 springs if you got the right tools and a bit of elbow grease.

 thanks guys, I tried Martins

thanks guys, I tried Martins and they dont stock the american springs.  As for replacing them with Aussie ones the problem is I would then have to rework all the checkerplate wheel guards as well because the axles would need to be spaced further apart.  I would have thought with all the american imports over the years someone would carry some but its proving difficult to find..may have to express import....buggar

Google spring makers

There are plenty of spring makers around, just google them and take your broken spring in and they can forge a new one exactly the same as the original
