Hill river report
With all the gear and esky packed, myself and a few mates headed up to Hill River mid morning on friday.
Two of the guy's were new to beach fishing so i packed a few extra rig's expecting to be showing them how its done.
As soon as we arived i was shocked to see access has been resricted to some areas.
I put Coug's on watch for the ranger as we set up for the night.
With light winds and no weed on the beach it looked very fishy. I helped the new guy's rig up for tailor and started to fish.
A few large herring were caught but the tailor were not around, only 1 was caught.
As darkness set in we hooked the usual handfull of stingrays, usualy i snap them off in the water to avoid handling them,
but we pulled one up for a photo as my new friend had never caught something that big.
Right on the high tide My other friend got a hit and soon had his first bronzie on the sand. Not huge but a good start.
Ididn't catch anything, spent most of my time helping the others but was glad to see some fish landed.
Rest of the night was very quiet so had to settle for a feed of herring in the morning (plenty around ) before we headed home.
Cheers. Grant...

Great work
It's great that you helped your mates out to catch a fish. I know personally I can enjoy myself simply watching others fish especially when they are my mates.

I get more of a buzz actually
I get more of a buzz actually putting others onto fish than catching them myself nowadays.
Well done.

As others have said its great
As others have said its great getting mates onto fish. Maybe you should warn them though that what your getting them into can potentially become a massive addiction!
